Greensand Ridge is the UK's most sustainable distillery. Specialising in Gins, Fruit Brandies and Rums, we make spirits with a local influence, use sustainable practices and turn surplus produce from local growers into fine spirits. We aim to have the smallest possible environmental footprint using 100% renewable power and aiming to be waste, chemical and plastic free in the distillery, with all solid organic waste going to local smallholdings (which also supply the distillery for events), and liquid waste making gas for the grid. Our total non-recyclable output is 1 bin every 8 weeks. Central to what we do is make spirits with surplus produce: apples - apple brandy, plums - plum brandy, raspberries - berry schnapps, UK-byproduct molasses - rum. We do all this while being the UK's first carbon neutral distillery, and winning the Spirits Business' only Master classification for Green Initiatives.
