If you’re wanting to impress your date, try our effortless steak and chunky potato wedges recipe. With minimal work, you can have a mouthwatering beef steak cooked to perfection and homemade chunky potato chips on the side. The timings for this recipe allow the meat to rest before and after cooking, resulting in a perfect steak. Try and buy the best quality steak you can for this, sourcing from your local butchers if possible. For the potatoes, use rooster, russet or Maris Piper potatoes, and leave them unpeeled. Serve with garden peas and a dollop of garlic mayonnaise on the side.
After you turn the potatoes, brush a grill pan with a little rapeseed oil and heat over a high heat. Cook your steaks for 4 minutes on each side, turning once, for medium-rare. Cook for a further 2 minutes on each side for a well-done steak.
