HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
In the early 90’s Christine (the founder) started a Farmers Market to help a friend of hers who was a farmer take produce to market during a national foot and mouth crisis. The Alderley Edge Farmers Market was born. With a bustling market on the go Christine’s next venture was to make
produce to sell at the market. First was puddings, then cakes and finally she settled on preserves in 2010. Preserves production grew to 10k jars annually. All made by hand at home. Once again, a new challenge was sought and liqueur production seemed like an obvious alternative use of the fruit
for the jams and marmalades. For Christmas 2012 the first batch of Sloe Gin was ready and went down a storm.Read more
At the tender age of 70 she created Christine's Preserves. Christine’s Liqueurs was created as she was always partial to a spot of damson and sloe gin and knew she wasn’t alone.
