Hamza the Founder of White's Gourmet Fried Chicken shared with us the story behind White's Gourmet Fried Chicken.

  1. What inspired you to start Whites Gourmet Fried Chicken?

Our family are big fried chicken fans. After years of experimenting with recipes for home use, someone suggested that this is way better then anything outside and we should start selling this to people outside. The rest is history now.

  1. What are you most excited about so far?

We bagged a few awards last year. Our BIRD DUST had been thoroughly tested with our amazing restaurant customers, so always had comfort in it being a winner, but it was nice to get further proof from others in the food scene. 

  1. Which is your personal favourite product and why?

The closest to my heart is Crunchy Cornflake as we’d been slinging thousands of pieces of chicken through our restaurant using this flavour of BIRD DUST. My favourite at the moment is the Jammin Jerk which the kids absolutely love. We try different ways of cooking it all the time at home, so we’re constantly on the journey of perfecting this.

  1. For a new customer, which of your product would you recommend them to try first?

If you’re new to BIRD DUST, then Crunchy Cornflake and Panko are a great entry point. You can then try out Spicy Reaper if you love your chilli or give our new range a try. Smokin Chipotle, Jammin Jerk and Poppin Pakora 

  1. What does Nottingham mean to you?

The food scene in Nottingham has developed in light years recently. There’s a great range of restaurants and some amazing food producers that are based in Nottingham. Being a part of this tapestry is great. If you love food and drink, Nottingham is the place to be!
