The Maker says…Pop the top on Charlie's Brown Chilli Sauce and you're immediately greeted by the sharp scent of fresh ginger and a light vinegar tang. Yet dive in deeper and those flavours play but a small supporting role to its rich, dark, bold and fruity body. A thick and sticky, sweet blend of apples and prunes, combined with molasses-heavy, black treacle, malt and a subtle, savoury smoke from the chipotle. This sauce may be mild but don't let that fool you, its taste is truly intense and it is perfect for chip butties, fried eggs, steak, shepherd's pies, sausages and just about any other meat that you can think of. Or try mixing it with your favourite brown soda for a delicious cola barbecue glaze.
